I AERONAUTICS AND SPACE (Farm Rural de Palermo - Year 1968)

First of all I wanted to thank all the laudatory comments I have received from previous entries.
is an enormous satisfaction and motivates me to continue publishing new blog entries. Thank you all. Incidentally
tell them that I corrected the contact email that was wrong with the "profile" of the blog.

----------------------- Returning to this photo gallery, was my first airshow, held in Palermo in November 1968 occasion of the XXI week Aeronautics and Space. By then he had nothing more than 15 years, if however, had already dabbled in photography of aircraft in the field of ex-VII Brigada Aérea Morón, sticking out pictures of the Gloster Meteor, an issue that will consider separately in a new entry, as I mentioned.
remember that this opportunity did not have the Voigtlander Vitoret, habitualemnte I lent my sister, who was 10 years older than me, because I had it repaired, however, people in the house of photos of San Antonio de Padua, I just showed the pictures of the Gloster, may have noticed my disappointment when I mentioned the exhibition of Palermo generously agreed to lend me a camera Halina, who was a real breakthrough for me, because he had photometer!. At this point, it should not fail to remind my parents, who allowed and address these costs since I was only a young student secondary and they, working people who had to fight every day, so not missing anything at home, at least as necesario.Mi eternal gratitude and remembrance for my parents.

To begin, the coverage of events in the Aerospace 317/68 December of that year.

EXPOSURE PHOTOS

Huanquero FMA IA-35 / A-305

41 aircraft were manufactured including 3 prototypes, This multipurpose aircraft equipped with 2 AI-19R radial engines "El Indio" domestically produced and served mainly in the Second Air Brigade and photographic aircraft, the V Air Brigade as a version of attack and light transport in the Reconquista and the BAM BAM Mar del Plata. Designed by Kurt Tank and Mr. Paul Klages in 1950, from 1952 started the construction of 3 prototypes, the first of which (IA-35-P) conducted the first flight on September 7, 1953 under the control of the REMP. Lieut. Jorge Conan Doyle. Called "Justicialista Air", referring to the then General Perón, was presented to national authorities and Air Force Argentina on September 21, 1953. In 1955 began the production of other 3 units of preproduction, but the political-military events of that year halted the project and the removal of German technicians. However, the program resumed with engineers from Argentina and was renamed "Huanquero." The first pre-series aircraft made the first flight on March 29, 1957 and early 1958 left the factory the first production aircraft to be complete 43 units of the 100 envisaged in the original program. Finally factory with delivery of aircraft number 38 (not including the 3 prototypes) in July 1962, production DINFIA canceled for budgetary reasons and because the project was already advanced new engines with propellers Turbomeca Bastan III, from Cell no. 39 of Huanquero, to be known as "Guaraní." Just was the natural development of the Guarani, which culminated in the so-called IA-50 Guaraní II (later IA-50 G-II) from 1966 would begin to replace Huanqueros transport missions in aerial photography and supplemented by what started the gradual decline. With the arrival of the Bac Canberra in 1971, the last aircraft operations were grouped in the BAM Reconquista where they were finally off the December 31, 1973, this time in addition to the obsolescence and age of design, the arrival of a new aircraft, the Pucara. Anyway has the double merit of being the ultimate exponent of most fertile period of the aviation industry in Argentina and it was also like the DL-22 and Calquin building national integrity.

DINFIA IA-50 G-II / T-117

Including the prototype, were built 35 units of this multi-purpose light aircraft.
When the early '60s, is projected on Huanquero engined with turboprops, begins a process that would lead to the completion of the IA-35 Evidence II, which later would be called Guarani I.
The Guaraní I kept the double drift Huanquero and equipped with two Turbomeca turboprops of 870 shp Bastan III, performs the first flight on February 6, 1962 and is presented in Buenos Aires on 3 May of that year.
However, due to the improved performance is decided to change the double bypassed by a more monoderiva other changes in the rear fuselage and windscreen, giving rise to new model Guaraní II.
the plane was so original IA-35 Proof II LQ-HER registered, then Guaraní I became the LV-X27 now enrolled Guaraní II, which made its maiden flight on April 6, 1963.
With production output of the second prototype and preproduction aircraft registered TX-01 in 1965 is presented at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, after crossing the Atlantic in flight.
in France successfully evaluated in the centers of Istres (static testing) and Bretigny (in flight), which defines the mass production of the aircraft.
Equipped with more powerful engines Bastan VI A, the first series aircraft was delivered in June 1966.
The main user of G-II was the Air Force Argentina in Group 1 Transport in the I Brigade of Palomar and the photographic plane Group 2 and in the Second Air Brigade based in Parana, although government agencies LAER and operator of Entre Rios province have learned Guaraní services, although in small amounts.
Unfortunately and once again terminates the production output of the aircraft factory no. 34 of series, as efforts were then directed to the development of IA-58 Pucara that involved the same design team of Guaraní, again missing the opportunity of development of an excellent aircraft and the development of our aviation industry.
The last aircraft in photographic version (F-35) was delivered formally to the Second Air Brigade, 20 January 1975.
FMA IA-53 Mamboretá / LV-X-33

A single prototype was built for this aircraft specifically designed for farming and designed on international standards. all metal plane with cantilever wings, fuselage built in steel tube chrome-moly, slotted flaps and ailerons high performance. The same is retained in the current Moron MNA

The "Mamboretá" restored and exhibited in Morón.

BEECHCRAFT T-34 Mentor / E-010

Ninety aircraft were purchased in 1957 at the Beechcraft factory in Wichita (Kansas). Called Beechcraft B-45 by the factory, they are more popularly known T-34 by the well known versions and produced for the USAF and then be resold to other air forces worldwide.
planes for Argentina were original works, that is, Beechcraft B-45, I would be the correct name.
The E-010 of the photograph belongs to the REMP. batch of 15 machines in flight traveled to Argentina for the Pacific route, escorted 3-C-47 support, coming to Cordova on 20 June 1957. The remaining 75 aircraft were armed by DINFIA, finishing construction on 11 April 1962.
The first aircraft assembled by DINFIA made its first flight on October 31, 1959.
By 1996 it was decided to incorporate improvements in the Mentor to extend its life another 10 years, since studies of fatigue of the cell determined that possibility.
were carried out overhaul work of some 30 units in service by then, placed 10 new engines and traveled to zero the other 20 engines, reviewed the structures of aircraft.
The work was carried out in the AM Rio IV, by the then LMAASA and final assembly of aircraft for EAM own staff. The first plane reconditioned to new (E-060) flew in May 1997, completing the work by the end of 1998.
Unfortunately a few months ago, all planes were broadcast service and subject to further work refurbishing the problems detected in its structure. For these times are becoming little by little to active duty.
Finally, we can say that more than 50 promotions of officers and airmen used the Mentor school aircraft, becoming the backbone training programs of the Air Force Argentina.

DOUGLAS C-47A / TC-32
1968, the TC-32 was working for the State Airlines, possibly since the First Brigade of Palomar. In 1947, 16 C-47A/Dc-3 joined the newly established Air Force Argentina, becoming the main means of transport in force by then. In 1966, the planes that were broadcast service of Aerolineas Argentinas was transferred to the Air Force, significantly increasing the no. aircraft in service. The last 10 aircraft (T-101, T-103, T-104, TC-20, TC-21, TC-27, TC-33, TC-34, TC-35, TC-37) left active duty to 1989/1990.

Sikorsky S-55 / H-4

Twelve copies of this aircraft arrived in December 1960 to serve initially on the First Brigade of Palomar.
The apparatus of the photograph is preserved in the MNA of Morón, after passing to the former headquarters of the Museum at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery.

Morane Saulnier MS-760 Paris / E-224

Forty-eight MS-760 Paris were acquired by the Air Force Argentina in early 1958, establishing the contract that the first 12 units would be manufactured in France but assembled in Argentina and the remaining 36 units produced under license in our DINFIA of Cordoba.
Morane performed the first flight on October 27, 1958, receiving the enrollment A-01 attack.
The first round of French origin assembly was completed in October 1960 and licensed series of nation-building ended in mid-1963 when the E-248 (Reissues "E" training from 1959) came off the assembly line.
Fourth Brigade Assigned to Air "The Plumerillo" in Mendoza with some alternative destinations in the EAM and the VII Brigada Aérea Morón, have achieved the unique record to remain in service for over 40 years (new engines by 1978), when in late April 2007 were definitely radiated from active duty.
The E-224 photo presented here entered service in 1961 and was deprogrammed in 1998 after 37 years of operational service. Deposited in the IV Air Brigade was then assigned private air museum "Museo interforce Santa Romana in the Province of San Luis.

GLOSTER METEOR MK-04 / C-038

G.41F Ex-RAF Meteor EE587 F.Mk4, was delivered on August 23, 1948.
was part of the last squadron of 12 aircraft that the December 29, 1970 flew around the Greater Buenos Aires by way of farewell from active duty.
Moved after his discharge as teaching materials to the NCO School of the Air Force in Córdoba, was subsequently assigned as a monument in the town of Junín.

NORTH AMERICAN F86F40 Sabre / C-124

Twenty-eight devices were purchased for the Sabre Air Force Argentina, arriving at the IV Air Brigade the first 14 units on 26 September 1960. In December of that year the 14 remaining aircraft arrived in second ferry from USA. Writing about the Sabre, it is impossible not to remember the "Squadron Southern Cross", which the C-124 was one of its members. Created in early 1962 on the occasion of the Golden Anniversary of the Air Force Argentina and decorated with bright colors, made their first demos on 12 January Tandil and Mar del Plata on January 15, 1962.
The C-124 will play be the paragraph right (designated Star Delta) and was piloted in the purchases. presentations by the REMP. Lieut. José Horacio Viola.L
ament squadron disbanded at the end of the year 1962, by political-military withdrew its members from created drive. Also relevant was the same year, when a championship to be air-ground shooting in Las Lajas to 12 km. of Mendoza, Argentina Sabres prevailed over their counterparts in USA and Peru. Recent F-86 Sabres left active duty in 1986, when a structural failure affected the C-120 in a fatal accident. The C-124, after his embarrassing tenure as Gate Guardian at the EAM, was rescued and restored by the staff of the IV Brigade Aviation Museum to be part of that brigade.

DOUGLAS A-4B Skyhawk / C-207

Named A-4P by Douglas as a result of the modernization of a batch of 50 A-4B U.S. Navy, in Argentina followed by naming its original name A-4B.
The C207 arrived in the country on the ferry flight October 31, 1966 under the command of Vice Commander George Mones Ruiz.
When I took these photographs in the Rural Aviation Week 1968, being very young, I never could have imagined that these photos would be so enormous historical value for the operation of that aircraft campaign in the Falklands.
The C-207 left active duty March 15, 1999 in emotional ceremony at the V Air Brigade Villa Reynolds, San Luis and flight reached its last and current home of the National Aeronautical Museum Moron.
The C-207 arrived shortly after to Moron in early April 1999 for incorporation into the new headquarters of the National Aviation Museum. Here you can see him on the occasion of the event ASSA'99.

The national fireworks displays said this in 1968. At that time were very important in aerospace projects.

The cover of this no. of Aerospace, 1971, issue dedicated entirely to aerospace, is an example of the importance it deserves special mention at the time.
